VENUE

Built in 1902 and expanded in several phases until 1911, the power station in the Landschaftspark Duisburg was a central facility of the Meiderich ironworks. It housed ten large blast furnace gas-powered machines used to generate electricity and produce blast furnace wind. From this hall, the plant and the nearby workers’ settlement on Neubreisacher Straße were supplied with electricity until 1965. After the machines were shut down and dismantled, the hall was used as a spare parts warehouse until 1987.

As part of the development of the Landschaftspark, the power station was eventually renovated and transformed into a multifunctional event venue. After a seven-month renovation period, the hall reopened in October 1997. Since then, it has hosted major international events that, thanks to the unique atmosphere of the massive industrial hall combined with its modern equipment, have become truly exceptional experiences.
